| Product Life-Cycle Management (PLM) | See also Product Life Cycle (PLC); Phases are 1-Conceive, 2-Design, 3-Realize, and 4-Service.
Most Product Managers do their work in Phase 4-Service, enhancing an existing product, product suite, or platform to keep it relevant in the market/ to the customers, and competitive. |

| Project Development Life Cycle (PDLC) | A collection of processes required to deliver a project, including planning (Inception, Elaboration), building (Construction), and delivering (Transition and Project Close Out) the project.
The specific processes of the PDLC will likely be unique to the industry, company, and even project type; The PMP process groups are universal across projects, companies, and industries. |

| Waterfall Development Method | Linear development approach through phases of ideation, initiation, analysis, design, construction, testing, deployment, and method. The processes are the same in Agile Software Development but, unlike Agile, Waterfall is sequential and not iterative.
The Waterfall Model is most relevant when design changes are less likely to occur, such as in manufacturing of physical products. All design is delivered well prior to construction phase, and generally delivered once, rather than the rapidly repeating cycles (sprints) of the Agile Model. |
